Afghan National Arrested for Bomb-Making Video, Days After DC Shooting

A 32-year-old Afghan national, Mohammad Dawood Alokozay, has been arrested in Texas for posting a disturbing video on TikTok, which showed him building a bomb. The arrest comes just days after an Afghan national, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, shot two National Guard members in Washington D.C.

According to authorities, Alokozay entered the United States under Operation Allies Welcome, a program established to resettle Afghan nationals who worked with the U.S. military or government during the war in Afghanistan. The program allowed for the evacuation of thousands of Afghan nationals, who were later resettled in the U.S.

The disturbing video, which was posted on TikTok, showed Alokozay assembling a homemade explosive device. The video was reportedly discovered by law enforcement officials, who immediately launched an investigation into Alokozay's activities.

Alokozay was arrested on Wednesday in Texas, where he was living in a refugee resettlement facility. He is currently being held without bail, pending further investigation and potential charges.

The arrest comes just a day after an Afghan national, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, shot two National Guard members in Washington D.C. The incident has raised concerns about the vetting process for Afghan nationals who enter the U.S. under Operation Allies Welcome.

The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are currently investigating the incident, and officials are working to determine whether Alokozay's arrest is linked to any larger terrorist plot. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
